Indra Prasad Subedi

Indra Prasad Subedi was born in a small village in the Panchthar District of Nepal. Ever since he was a child, he was fascinated by the animals he would encounter outside his door. In 2002, he realized his dream of working with them during a one-year stint as an animal keeper in Chitwan National Park.

He left Nepal to work in a supervisory position unrelated to animals for 5 years, but he remained true to his love of wildlife continually brushing up on his knowledge as well as helping a friend at a national park in Singapore.

It was during his return home that a new opportunity with TDIC arose, which Indra seized enthusiastically. Landing on Sir Bani Yas in 2008, he was Head Ranger/Supervisor in the Sir Bani Yas conservation team, before being given his current position as Wildlife Supervisor/Game Capture Specialist at Barari Forest Management. His passion for the Island’s animals run deep and he is always keen to enhance his conservation skills.

Indra plays an integral role in contributing towards management of the animals at Sir Bani Yas Island. A game capture specialist, one of his fondest memories is interacting with the cheetahs that arrived to the Island around the same time as he did. Indra played an integral role in re-wilding the cheetahs and fostered a close bond with them that remains to this day, and he always looks forward to seeing them around in the Arabian Wildlife Park.
